30th Sept. 45. 

Entirely dull, very mild, with only a gentle SW draught;  after much damp weather & much drizzling rain, with no drying & barometer very high & still rising;  but quite sunless and so far nearly a week.

In afternoon rode to Grand Canal at Killeen & rode westwards till lane by Camac River met;  here in [[image]] field swept along base of Δ for nearly an hour (where collected on previous dates 29.7.45 & 1.8.45) as well as a few insects amongst turnips & along drain parallel to canal.

Cymodusa leucocera?  ♂︎, ant. 36;  no areolet in wing!!
Mesochorus sp.  2♀︎♀︎, red thorax:  not mtd.
Plectiscid  ♂︎ sp. not mtd.
Perilitus sp.  ♂︎ - minute, blackish, ant. only 19!

Blacus spp. in great abundance.
B. ruficornis  ♂︎♂︎ abundant, ♀︎♀︎ frequent } none mtd.  The ♂︎♂︎ flying round Salix viminalis!
B. diversicornis  2♀︎♀︎, ant. both 20.
B. humilis group.  7♂︎♂︎ & 5♀︎♀︎, which can be sorted into 5 "forms", the ♂︎♂︎ can be referred to forms 1, 2 & 3, while the ♀︎♀︎ represent forms 2, 3, 4 & 5 - 5 being what I call exilis.  The characters on which these are divided by me are antennae;  relative length of 1st & 2nd discoidal areolets;  shape of head;  size & shape of eyes;  radial cell & radius, sternauli.
