After a very high & steady barometer for a week, this was the second remarkably hot & sunny day in succession, following a very heavy fog at night which left everything wet & dripping & under trees where they had caught the fog the roads were in pools. A slight breeze rose about noon & under its influence & very hot sun the vegetation dried rapidly, except in shade of hedges, &c.
