6th May 1948 (Thursday).

A most beautiful day - the best for some time & nearly all sunny; milder than of late, but fairly strong W. breeze.

In afternoon drove to Glenasmole & walked up to head of upper reservoir, which was practically at high water mark.

Swept insects in two areas, as follows:-
1 = side of path from caretakers lodge (now Mr. Murphy, formerly Mr Moore!) to W. end of upper dams.
2 = Willows by shore of reservoir above the boat "dock" for 200 yards, & willows, &c. along shore (H. Water Mark!) at head of upper reservoir.
