22nd Sept. 1948.

A fine but dull morning after two very cold days, but much sun on afternoon of 21st, turning mild & dull at 2 P.M. with strong W. wind suddenly backing to SW. & forming jam with heavy drizzle for nearly an hour, then beautifully fine & later rain again with no wind.

Drove in afternoon to top of Slade of Saggart W. side & collected under trees where dry from 3.30 till 4.45 & filled two suckers. Small hymenoptera very plentiful, especially Proctos.
