22nd May 1949.

A wretched morning with SE. wind & falling glass. Rain set in at 10 AM., but nevertheless set off for Devil's Glen. As rain in sheets, stopped at 11.30 at Ballyhenry & tried collecting (with M.W.R. Graham) with sucker under leaves of trees, where each took about a dozen specimens. Had lunch at 12.30 & as still raining at 1 PM. set off home & drove into sunshine as soon as we got N. of the Scalp. Gorgeous afternoon in Dublin. Very disgusting!
