15th June '49.

A perfect day, all hot sun, but strong wind from NE. along coast & so small insects very scarce. Drove, with Marcus Graham & J.P. Brunker to Buckroney, S. of Brittas Bay, Co. WI.

Left home at 10.30 & arrived there about 11.50. Collected insects in three areas, as follows:-

1 = Sand-dunes N. of outlet of Buckroney Marsh & S. of Mizen Head.  12 noon till 1 P.M.
2 = Buckroney Marsh, W. of road & behind dunes.  2.0 till 4.0 P.M.
3 = Edge of lagoon in dunes, at moment quite dry!
