Same as last few days; gloriously sunny all day, hazy, & with keen, strong, cool, Easterly wind. Drove to Kippure Lodge, Athdown, Co. WI., arriving about 11.15 AM. - Daisy & I. Left car in shade of trees & with our lunch ascended the Athdown Brook, which flows into the R. Liffey just below Kippure House. Had lunch at 1 P.M. in gorge below a small waterfall, & then pushed on onto the ridge between Seefingan & Kippure - Alt. of ridge about 2100-2200 ft. Or reaching the ridge turned east on to a saddle where some nice pools & then back down a tributary of the Athdown Brook to the waterfall & so back to car, where had tea about 5 P.M.

Collected a few insects in gorge below the waterfall before lunch, where small & old trees of Birch, Hazel & Mt. Ash grow; & collected some water Beetles in the pools on the col at about 2100 ft., where also saw Correa, Geri &. The only plants of interest seen during the day were Lychnis flos-cuculi by the waterfall at about 1300 ft (?) & Vaccinium vitis-idaea & Empetrum nigrum on the ridge at 2000 to 2200 ft on both WI. & DU. sides of the county boundary.
