the lough, with Equisetum limosum around the edge, & an odd specimen of Pot. natans; later went N. to Loughnacally via the great wet bog which forms the upper basin of the Black Burn - a very wet area full of Carex filiformis & C. limosa, Drosera anglica, Pinguicula lusitanica, &c. &c. which would be impassable in a wet season & in which one would expect Sax. Hirculus to occur.

Loughnacally contains much Pot. natans, & there is some Carex filiformis at the outlet, where had aft. tea. Later came back to small lake S.E. of Lough Fine in bog N. of which there is Carex pauciflora & passed round N. should of Big Trosk once more seeing the Beech & Parsley Ferns, & so home down lane to road 1/2 mile N. of Carnlough.

Saw first specimens (3) of summer brood of the Small Tortoiseshell Butterflies; one ♂︎ Dark Green Fritillary at head of Carnlough Glen; & one Painted Lady at head of lane on return from Trosk.
