[22 mtd. from 2 & these labelled on 1.4.1956.] Cryptinids in abundance, but mostly ♂︎♂︎ of a few species: at least 50 in sucker, but 6 only mounted:- Hemiteles aperta 2♀︎♀︎, ant. 21 & 20+. H. cf. gracilis? ♂︎, ant. 19. H. sp. ♀︎, ant. 22. Phygadeuon sp. 2♀︎♀︎, ant. both 19. Orthocentrus cf. radialis ♂︎, ant. 29. Stenomacrus 4 = St. sp.? 2♀︎♀︎, ant. 24 & 17+! St. sp.? ♀︎, ant. 19+; tergite 1 & most of 2 alutaceus: ? near tristis or cognatus Hlgr. St. sp.? ♂︎, ant. bitten off: radius very curved. Gen. et sp.? 1 (Exochid!); ant. 20+; ♀︎ Promethes sulcator 2♂︎♂︎: not mtd. Homocidus signatus ♂︎, ant. 21; areolet almost missing! [No sign of H. gracilentus, taken here on 6.8.'37 & 20.8.1939, & to get the ♀︎ of which was the chief object of my visit to Lug: & to Thonelagee [[Tonelagee]] on 23.8.49.] Thersilochid 1 large ♂︎, ant. 24+ = Meteorus leviventris ♀︎, ant. 25. Monoctonus caricis ♀︎. Proctos. Common, about 17 in sucker. Chalcids common: a dozen in sucker Cynipids 1 species frequent: six in sucker. 1st Sept. 1949. A beautiful day, after a very wet one. Nearly all sunny with fresh SW. wind. Left home at 11 AM. with Mr. & Mrs. J.A.J. Palmer & drove to Ballymakaily loch on Grand Canal & walked up to Gollierstown Bridge & ponds. Collected in four areas as follows:- 1 = edge of canal from loch to Gollierstown. 2 = 1st pond over sall, N. of canal 1/8 mile W. of Gollierstown Bridge. 3 = 1st & S & W sides of 2nd pond, S. of Canal & W. of Bridge. 4 = 3rd polnd & SW corner of 2nd pond, S. of Canal & W. of Bridge. Bombus sylvarum ♂︎♂︎ & ☿☿ frequent fide Palmer B. derhamellus 1 fresh ♀︎ seen. B. muscorum several ♀︎♀︎. B. lapidarius faded ♂︎♂︎ B. lucorum several ☿☿, one very fresh, others faded B. agrorum frequent.
