Chorebidia naiidum Hal. ♂︎, ant. 20 (or only 19 in 1 & 20 in other!)
Proctos. 2: 1 mtd. = Trichopria ♀︎.


18th September 1949. 

A most perfect day, after a clear night with heavy dew.  Slightly hazy, otherwise all sunny, with very gentle E. breeze off the sea.  Drove, with Marcus Graham (& Daisy) to Newcastle station on The Murrough, Co. WI., & spent the day between that & The Breaches (where the tide flows in & out under the railway 2 miles N. of the station).  Collected by sweeping along the edges of the drains & salt marsh, &c.  

Bumble Bees seen:-  B. lapidarius ♂︎♂︎ frequent;  B. muscorum very common & mostly ♂︎♂︎;  B. lucorum 2♀︎♀︎ & some ♂︎♂︎;  B. jonellus 1 large ☿ taken by Graham.  [No B. agrorum? or other Aculeates seen, except Bethylus!]

Swept in salt marsh, on edge of drain, & between Newcastle Station N. to the Breaches.

Bethylus cephalotes  2♀︎♀︎ swept on edge of drain inside & parallel to railway in 2nd sucker!

In 1st sucker, before lunch (nearer station).

Omorga? sp.?  ♀︎, pale stigma, ant. 28.
Apanteles salebrosus?  ♂︎.
Macrocentrus abdominalis  2♂︎♂︎, 1 dark, 1 pale;  ant. 44 & 45.
Alysia rufidens  ♀︎, ant. 23 - Cf. with ♀︎ taken on N. Bull, DU. (1) 11.5.49.
