Haliday's Diary (notes taken from by (A.W.S.)
Original MS in Nat. Mus., Dublin

1836.
[Notes for April, May mainly refer to Coleoptera & Diptera & no Hymenoptera & refer to coast of Dublin - "N. Bull," "Clontarf," &c.

On 12th May Broscus cephalotes is recorded from "Bull Sands" & three lines farther down, apparently under same date, Bibio marci is recorded from "Clifden", which was Haliday's residence at Holywood, Co. Down, which is scarcel possible!

Later, without date or locality, but before entry of "25th May," the following amongst other insects are recorded:-

Lyda (nemorum F.) sylvatica L.
Microgaster only fulvipes
Rogas testaceus
Eubadizon pectoralis
[cont in next column

[May cont. before 25th]

Microdus ochropes
"Wasps very few"
Nematus
* Ichneutes reunitor
*Perilitus tempestivus (the specific name "tempestivus" written in red ink as if indicating a new record and both this & Ichneutes marked by asterisks for some reason perhaps! A.W.S]
"Tanychori A2 b2 = b1
Ar non Au atting. P.6,3"
[A description of the Perilitus in Haliday's shorthand, a partial key to which is given in Nat. Hist. Review, vol.II, 1855, "Proceedings", pp.59-60! A.W.S]
