Apanteles cf. pallipes, ♂︎ Sigalphus aciculatus? ♂︎♂︎ common at Hawthorn: 1♂︎ mtd., ant. 25. Ichneutes reunitor 2♀︎♀︎ at Salix cinerea (1 by Graham), ant. 25. Dacnusa laevipectus: not mtd. Aphidius cf. asteris? ♀︎, very dark & small, ant. 16. ? this species. Procto: not mtd. Blue jumping beetle = Shield Bug = prasenus? 11th May 1950. The second all sunny day, but also with strong NE breeze. In afternoon drove to John Palmer's at Greystone to give him slips of Dryas octopetala & then drove him & Mrs. Palmer to Newcastle station where had cup of tea. After tea John & I walked N. to The Breaches & I did a few minutes sweeping along the edges of the drains & channels, & in field inside railway, but wind very strong & few insects about. Saw ♀︎ Bombus lapiderius & several B. lucorum ♀︎♀︎; faded ♂︎♂︎ of Andrena albicans (by road at station!) & one ♀︎ Psithyrus distinctus. 57.) 11.5.50, cont. The Murrough, just S. of The Breaches i.e. 1 mile N. of Newcastle station, Co. WI. [15 mtd. & these labelled 21.11.1960. AWS.] Cryptinids 2 large ♂︎♂︎; [1 small ♂︎ not mtd.] = Phygadeuon sp. 2♂︎♂︎ ant. both 23. Hemiteles sp. 1♂︎, ant. 20: small, very black. Campoplegids 4♀︎♀︎ = Canidiella curculionis? ♀︎, ant. 19. Cymodusa cruentata 2♀︎♀︎, ant. 32 & 33. Angitia cf cerophaga ♀︎, ant. 28. Bracon osculator ♀︎, ant. 25. B. cf. praetermissa 2♂︎♂︎, ant. both 31 Beetles taken on mud at A.W.M. by channel 4 = 14th May 1950. The fifth entirely sunny day, but like all the rest with almost a gale from NNE. (at Landenstown). Left home in car, alone, with Marcus Graham, & drove to Grand Canal at Landenstown, Co. KD. Left car at usual place 1/4 mile E. of lock & walked W. along canal & collected between canal & Landenstown Ho. estate & a little in the plantation belt, where met Mrs. Beckman - the owner or owner's wife - who finding what we were doing was very kind & polite - though we were obviously trespassing.
