31st May 1950.

Another very fine & warm day, but wind east & a lot of cloud in afternoon.

Dr. Day called for us about 11.0 A.M. & drove us to Weymouth where we collected around the west end of Lodmoor - a brackish lagoon of large extent but now being filled in with rubbish; as also is the Radipole Lake at the west side of Weymouth where we collected for a couple of hours after taking our lunch. This last looked very nice ground once we got beyond the rubbish dump but yielded very few Hymenoptera in spite of vigorous sweeping.

11.40 till 1.0 P.M. Swept amongst reeds, Scirpus maritimus, &c., at west arm of Loodmoor lagoon, just E. of Weymouth & quite close to build in ground & rubbish dump.
