Minute ♀︎ Aspilota tenella? (ant. bitten off) taken at light, 10 P.M. in house, 14 Clareville Road, Harold's Cross, Dublin.

3rd August 1951.

A fine warm day, with showers here & there in distance until 6 P.M. when a jam formed to SW. of Dublin & heavy rain for an hour.

Intended spending afternoon at Manor Kilbride, WI., but delayed by having to wait for afternoon post & only left home (in car) at 5 P.M. On reaching Crooksling saw that a wall of rain was falling over Manor Kilbride & so turned back at the Brittas Ponds to collect in the Slade of Saggart. Here had just time for four sweeps under thick cover before the downpour beat through the canopy & made further collecting impossible, so drove home via Saggart. Home 7 P.M.

In back garden, 14 Clareville Rd., took a nice ♂︎ Bombus pratorum on lavendar blossom just before setting out at 4.45 P.M.
