Swept under beech, oak, &c., close to road, on left bank of the Slade & near the top of the wood - for 200 yards below fence opposite forestry cottage on other side of road.

5th August 1951.

A fine warm day with E-SE wind, causing jam over the hills &, apparently, misty rain there for most of the day, but where we were a very nice day with much very hot sun & fair shelter.  Intended going to Landenstown but trouble with one of the tyre-valves necessitated leaving spare wheel at garage on Harold's Cross Rd., & going to Royal Canal
