Dear Mr. Stelfox,
Many thanks for the data of the [[underlined]] Xylota lenta[[underlined]], also for the box of Syrphidae. Although all these have been noted as Irish, they include two interesting species-[[underlined]]Platychirus scambus[[underlined]] Staeg. [[male symbol]] and [[underlined]] Eristalis abusivus[[undelined]] Collin [[male symbol]]. The latter is uncommon, resembling the common [[underlined]] E. arbustorum[[underlined]] L. very closely. For your information, the [[underlined]] Platychirus[[underlined]] is from Newcastle, 12.8. and the [[underlined]] Eristalis[[underlined]] is Newcastle, 5.8.
I shall be pleased to see any further Syrphidae that you catch this season,
With kind regards to Mrs. Stelfox
                              and yourself,
                             Yours sincerely,
                       [signature] R.L. Coe
