6th June 1953.

The first really sunny day for a week. In afternoon drove to Ballinascorney & walked up the overflow channel S. of Slieve-na-Bawnoge & along the ridge to Ballymorefin Hill, alt. 1,689 ft. Did not collect anything but a few mosses for Miss Thomson.

7th June.

Again all sunny. In forenoon wrote letters! Found a small (♂︎?) Mesites tardyi outside fresh hole in Hawthorn log in yard. A few weeks earlier had taken 4 Mesites in the Killarney Fern case. Originally brought in sticks from Powerscourt.
