Arrived Glasgow at 7.30 AM. & caught 8 AM. train from Buchanan St. for Killin, Mid Perth. Arrived Killin 10.30 - a wild day with NW gale after a wet night, but no showers fell on the district during the day. Went straight to the lime avenue on road from the wooden bridge to the old pier on Loch Tay & tried sweeping in spite of the wind, whose fierce blasts at times found every corner - yet quit a lot of insects swept just E. of the wooden bridge & along left bank of R. Lochay for 100 yards above the bridge = 1.

After lunch tried sweeping marsh drain by pond S. of the railway to the pier, but little fh got because of wind = 2.

Caught 1.45 bus to Lawers, where arrived at 2.15 & after a cup of tea went out at 3 P.M. & swept till 5 o'clock in lane to L. Tay. Filled one sucker from school to bend in lane (= 3) & another along bend & below it, where considerable shelter (= 4). Quite a lot of Parasitica to be had.
