Turning S. from the western point over flatissh coastal pasture with much grass & sedge (as just mentioned) we were delighted to find Primula scotica in flower & plentiful growing in a more closed association than we had previously seen it. This ended our notes & we came straight home. The following insects seen or swept during the day & all labelled "Far Out Head" though most taken on the area of Marram Grass on th E. side & within two miles of Sango Bay. Far Out Head, Durness. Bracon ♂︎: very interesting = This is clearly an abnormal (?injured in pupa) ♂︎ of B. satanas, with ocellar area sunk, notauli abnormally developed, &c. Ant. 39. Apanteles 4 = pallipes, 3♂︎♂︎, 1♀︎, but there is no central keel on propodeum! Diospilus, 2♂︎♂︎ = These ♂︎♂︎ are not identical! One has smooth tergite 1, the other rugose! Also there are differences in radius & other details: ant. 21 (rugose tergite 1) & ant. 22 (smooth tergite 1.) Opius irregularis, ♀︎, ant. 24: a very nice, but small example: tergite 2 virtually smooth. Alysia manducator, ♀︎, small, ant. 30. Pentapleura pumilio 2♂︎♂︎, 1♀︎, small & dark, ant. 26, 26 & 18.
