20th July 1954.

A poor day with drizzly showers & very high cold, SW-W. wind. Everybody went by bus to Carric & into W. corrie, Ben Lawers. Could not see any Gentiana in flower; but did see Arenaria rubella, Sedum villosum, Veronica saxatilis & all the usual plants.

21st July 1954.

The Laidlaws having arrived at Killin on 20th, we were offered a lift up Glen Lochay today & while Daisy stayed with the car, I, Mr. Thomas, Miss Laidlaw & young Dr. Eric Laidlaw walked up to the N. cliffs of Meall-na-Samhna via the Allt Dhuchlair & then worked W. to where we had lunch in 1952 & back to car at 6 P.M. via the Allt [[?Inischorach]]. Saw Bartsia alpina in three areas, Dryas octopetala, Salix lanata, S. arbuscula, S. lapponum, Carex atrata, capillaris, vaginata (1 flower spike near lunch place at E. end of cliffs) & many other nice plants. Not a hot day but showers at times, though quite a lot of sun.

22nd July 1954.

After a heavy shower about 11.15 a nice sunny day with strong W. wind & very hot sun in afternoon.

Marcus Graham & I took 10.30 bus & got off at W. end of the Duneaves road above (N. of) Fearnan & worked our way to Comrie Bridge & home by 5.15 bus in Aberfeldy. Filled 2 suckers: one before lunch & one after lunch = 1 & 2 respectively:-
