24th July 1954. A fairly fine day after more rain at night, but very strong SW-W wind during afternoon, at Killin, frequent skiffs of misty rain; much warmer than of late. Mareu Graham, Dasey & I went by 9.35AM bus to Killin & he & I collected in 3 areas till 3PM. When Dasie & I returned to Laren & I filled two ruckers before 7PM. Collecting very difficult at Killin. owing to very wet grass & at Laren due to wind.
1= roadside & under tree from graveyard to old pier on L.Tay, Killin. 10AM till 1PM. Very little out!
2= shore at old pier & roadside near same 1.30-2.0PM
3= N. side of avenue under the limes, just E. of wooden bridge over R.Lockay, on road to pier. 2.0 till 3.0 PM.
4= Lane to Loch Tay at Lavern to point bend & Layfield to the glen of the Lavern Barn 4.30 - 5.30 PM:
S. Glen along tributaries & the Lavern Burn up to road 5.30 - 6.30 PM
