Sequence C 7

Remark on the interval C-C[[prime]] (recorded dis.[[des?]] d-e)

The first estimates of this interval on Plates AC11546 and AM 6322 were 7 and 5 grades, respectively. (p. 43)

The second estimates were 2 and 3 grades respectively (p. 55.)

Examination of the plates shows that there was no mistake, probably, in identifying the stars. It is difficult to account for the discordance. The first estimates appear to be much too large when examined to-day. The second estimates appear somewhat too small. The images are of a degree of brightness to be much affected in relative appearance by the amount and quality of the light.

Probably nothing better can be done than to take the mean of the two sets of estimates.

First est. on AC 11546, AM 6322, MC 281 pc
Second estimate on AC 11546, AM 6322, AC11517, AM 6215

Adopt means of the two sets
