Saw Brown Creepers
They always flew. We went over to the tamarack swamp. Saw a great number of Evening Grosbeaks. There were quite a few Juncoes. We hunted for that Chickadees nest. It was spoiled. They had driven a hole in for about 10 inches and then cut in at the bottom to it. Saw a single Myrtle Warbler. On our way home we heard a white eyed Vireo singing.
Then we went home.

April 14, Sunday.

and I went down in the fields. Saw a cowbird fly over. Found a Robin's nest below Fiske's meadow in a small elm. It was plastered with fresh mud. Saw Song Sparrows mating. There were a few tree Sparrows here. Over by the plum orchard we saw the tracks of a great Blue Heron.

April 15, Monday.
This morning I saw a Chipping Sparrow Chasing a Robin that had ventured near its nest. The nest was being built in one of Mrs. Russels trees.
