sticks and weeds and lined thickly with chicken feathers. The feathers stuck up over the edge and arched over so as to nearly cover it. The nest contained 5 eggs. They were a light creamy white and were spotted with cinnamon-brown and lavender mostly in a wreath at the large end.

The female was much excited and gave a harsh rattling note like hitting two pebbles together and the usual harsh [[underlined]]Kra Kra[[/underlined]]

flew to another tree.

She spread her tail and drooped her wings. I took a picture of the nest. The wind nearly blew me out of the tree. On the way home I heard a Scarlet Tanager and a Redstart sing. Heard a large flock of Evening Grosbeaks in some woods.
