November 10, Sunday.
This morning after breakfast I went down in the fields. In Seeley's Marsh I saw two male Juncoes, One started to fly away but thought better of it and circled around and lit in a willow with the other again. It gave a rapid run-together note like [[wavy underline]] tsip-it tsip-it[/wavy underline]] While flying it gave a note like [[wavy underline]] tsip tsip tsip [[/wavy underline]] slower than the first. Then both of them flew into another bunch of willows. The flight was tipping like that of the chicadee and the tail was spread with every stroke of the wings. They flew quite fast and changed their direction every three or four strokes making

their flight erratic. They and the Tree Sparrows fly exactly alike.
