A Hairy Woodpecker could be heard over in the woods. This species is larger and calls [[underlined]] skik [[/underlined]] [[marginalia]] note [[/marginalia]] loudly while feeding unlike the Downy. It flew over my head above the tops of the trees. It [[marginalia]] flight [[/marginalia]] had a bounding flight. As it started on the upward glide each time it gave the notes. Its wings made a rattling noise once in a while.
