In Lyon's Woods By shed 9:30 A.M.

Nov. 30, 1901
Art and I saw a flock of about 40 American [[marginalia]] food [[/marginalia]] Goldfinches feeding on ragweed seeds and other kinds. They were quite friendly and [[marginalia]] habits [[/marginalia]] called to each other. Unlike most finches two or three would feed on the same weed. Suddenly they took alarm and with pretty, wild notes flew up in the trees but they soon forgot their fright and went back. They were all in fall dress.
