Dec. 1, 1901 II After a while the Hairy Woodpecker came back and went through another pile of stumps logs and dead trees. It gave a loud rattling call [[marginalia]] note [[/marginalia]] like [[blank space]] like that of the Downy's only louder. When it saw anything [[marginalia]] sneezing [[/marginalia]] suspicious it sneezed at it: a curious habit. It would jerk its head exactly as though sneezing. Sometimes it jerked out a short note at the end of it.
