Woods near fairgrounds in Baraboo 7:40 A.M.

April 15, 1902
This morning I was down in the woods near the fairgrounds. Saw two Field Sparrows. They were males. One had a fine song. [[marginalia]]song[[/marginalia]] It was like [[underlined]]wheur wheur wheur wheur trew trew trew trew tr-r-r-r-ree[[/underlined]]. [[marginalia]]actions[[/marginalia]] One was hunting on the ground in a plowed field. It was quite deliberate in its motions and was very tame. [[marginalia]]singing[[/marginalia]] It sang from the ground. While singing it did not give its whole attention to the song but looked around for food.
