Woods near fair grounds in Baraboo 7:55 A.M.

April 15, 1902
This morning I was down in the woods near the fair grounds. There were quite a few Bluejays here. [[marginalia]] alarm note [[/marginalia]] One gave a note like [[underlined]] per-lert o Klu [[/underlined]]. The first two notes were given as the head and body were raised and the last two as they were lowered. It seemed to be an alarm note. The English Sparrows near by seemed to be alarmed by it.
[[marginalia]] getting nests [[/marginalia]]Saw one tried to pick small limbs from a tree for the nest.

Transcription Notes:
Margin notes arranged against relevant section in the text. The margin note is effectively a reference to the text, which it seems clear is what Wetmore meant to do.
