[[marginalia]] companions [[/marginalia]] Saw a great many Flickers feeding in the fields with Meadowlarks. They were rather wild and flew up into the trees as we passed. One flew along in front of us for quite a while.
[[marginalia]] flight [[/marginalia]] It would fly from one telegraph post to another and call keeping just ahead. In flight it dipped down nearly to ground which it flew along until it came to the next post when it rose up and lit on the cross bar.
