Woods near fair grounds in Baraboo 7:55 A.M.

April 22, 1902
This morning I was down in the woods near the fairgrounds. Ruby-crowned Kinglets were thick. They were in full song.
[[marginalia]] song [[/marginalia]] I copied the song like this [[underlined]] see-see-see-see tuer tuer twil tur te tur te tur te [[/underlined]] and sometimes [[?tseu/tsue]] on the end. The first four were given rapidly & insectlike. The whole song seemed to bubble out as though it could not be stopped. First the flow of steam and then the water. It did not seem particular whether it was in a high tree or bush.
[[marginalia]] actions [[/marginalia]] They were very fidgety continually flitting their wings.
[[marginalia]] anger note [[/marginalia]]They gave angry flitting notes like [[underlined]] chit-it [[/underlined]].

Transcription Notes:
The double e's in the bird song could also be u's and vice versa.
