In Pfannstiehl's yard In Baraboo 8:16 A.M. April 24, 1902 This morning the White-throated Sparrows were very thick in Pfannstiehl's yard. [[marginalia]] shelter [[/marginalia]] They seemed to find a good shelter in the evergreens. [[marginalia]] call note [[/marginalia]] Many flew across the road and lit in the trees where they called [[underlined]] tsul [[/underlined]] and sang [[underlined]] I I pea body peabody [[/underlined]] like [[image: drawing of bent line]]. [[marginalia]] song [[/marginalia]] The song had a wild quavering note that reminds me of the deep quilt woods in summer. [[marginalia]] anger notes [[/marginalia]] They gave a sharp anger note like the sound made by placing the tongue on the palate and clicking repeated rapidly several times.
