In Pfannstiehl's yard In Baraboo 8:16 A.M.

April 24, 1902
This morning the White-throated Sparrows were very thick in Pfannstiehl's yard.
[[marginalia]] shelter [[/marginalia]] They seemed to find a good shelter in the evergreens.
[[marginalia]] call note [[/marginalia]] Many flew across the road and lit in the trees where they called [[underlined]] tsul [[/underlined]] and sang [[underlined]] I I pea body peabody [[/underlined]] like [[image: drawing of bent line]].
[[marginalia]] song [[/marginalia]] The song had a wild quavering note that reminds me of the deep quilt woods in summer.
[[marginalia]] anger notes [[/marginalia]] They gave a sharp anger note like the sound made by placing the tongue on the palate and clicking repeated rapidly several times.
