The male saw me immediately and trailed along the ground give a shrill whistled note. The young ones instantly ran or rather crawled into the high grass. I caught three. They were as big as the first joint of my thumb and had very large heads. They hid in little hollows near the roots of the grass and were very hard to find. When caught they gave a whistled note. They moved by a series of sudden jumps for they could not stand upright.
