four or five at a time and it would seize one and eat most of it and then seize another. After holding it a minute its grasp would slowly relax and it would drop watching it keenly after it lit. It would do this until all were gone. As long as I was in sight it watched me with open beak and one wing raised threateningly. After I had gone out it would watch the door for 10 or 15 minutes slowly closing it s beak with a series of almost imperceptible jerks. Then it would watch other things.

The cry of a Bluejay seemed to alarm it and on hearing it, it would dash wildly at the window and after hanging there a minute fly back to its perch. During its captivity it made no sound whatever. The excreta collected around its perch had a very strong smell.

This after I took it down in Bunnels Woods and let it go. Bunnel has bought M: Maines farm. It wing was healed up and it could fly fairly well. In about 13 minutes it had disappeared.
