90. Parus atricapillus. Ed. Dummer, Hemlock Bluffs, North Freedom, Wis, iris drab brown, bill black, tarsus dark slaty black. Length 5 1/2 wing 2 3/8 tail 2 1/2. [[female symbol]] ad. stomach contents small insects & eggs.

91. Dryobates villosus. A. Wetmore. Calhoun Rocks North Freedom, Wis., iris brown, bill dull black. tarsus greyish black. Length 8 5/8. wing 4 7/8 tail 2 7/8. [[male symbol]] ad. stomach contents grubs & larvae.

Today Ed Drummer and I went over to the Hemlock Bluffs.  There were three Red-tailed Hawks there.  I shot at them but was unable to get them although they were hit.  It seems almost impossible for them to escape but still they did.  I think they will occupy the old nest there.

March 23, Wednesday.

92. Junco hyemalis. A. Wetmore, Hanger's Point. Millpond North Freedom, Wis, iris brown; bill flesh color, tinted slightly with slate and upper mandible at tip and nostrils slaty. tarsus flesh color. Length 6, wing 3 3/16, tail 2 5/8. [[male symbol]] ad. stomach contents seeds.

93. Sialia sialis. A. Wetmore, Hanger's Point, Millpond. North Freedom Wis, iris dull brown, bill dusky, yellowish at gape.  tarsus dusky, lighter behind Length 7 wing 4 1/8 tail 2 5/8. [[male symbol]] ad. stomach contents a caterpillar.
