off but as soon as I was out of sight in the Pines she went back. I shot at her once at close range but did not get her. Fox Sparrows were quite thick and I heard a Chewink.

March 30 Wednesday.

101. Passer Domesticus. A. Wetmore. Seil's corner. North Freedom Wis., iris hazel, bill black. tarsus yellow. Length 6 wing 3 1/4. tail 2 1/8. [[male symbol]] ad. stomach contents seeds & grain.

102. Regulus satrapa. A. Wetmore, Schram's Hollow. Millpond North Freedom, Wis. iris brown. bill black. tarsus brown. Length 3 3/4 wing 2 3/8 tail 1 11/16. [[male symbol]] ad. stomach contents small insects.

April 8, Friday.

103. Aegilitis vocifera. A. Wetmore. Old Pasture, North Freedom, Wis., iris brown. bill black. tarsus flesh color with bluish markings on heel & toe joints. Length  wing  tail  [[female symbol]] ad. stomach contents worms.

April 9, Saturday.

104. Bubo virginianus. A. Wetmore, Hawk Creek, North Freedom Wis., iris yellow, bill black lighter at tip [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] inside of toes dirty white. Length 21 5/8 wing 14 1/4 tail 8 1/2 [[male symbol]] ad. stomach contents. White-footed mice; a ball of hair and bones two inches through.

This morning it was cold and windy. After breakfast I went up Hawk Creek. Fox Sparrows were very thick. They gathered in the tree tops and sang in chorus and great numbers were also on the ground. I saw them everywhere.

I saw a Hawk flying around over a hill and ran
