115. Pandion halietus carolinenis. P. Link, MacArthur's Linen Mills, Baraboo, Wis., Iris yellow. bill black. greenish slate at base. tarsus dirty yellowish white with tinges of bluish slate in places. Length 23 1/2 wing 19 1/2 tail 8 3/4. [[female symbol]] ad. stomach & crop contents a redhorse 6 or 8 inches long.

This morning Link shot an Osprey flying above the river and gave it to me. It was the first one I ever saw. The oil on its plumage had a very strange odor and the oil gland was very large. The feathers were very firm. (April 23, Saturday)
