to play on a shoal and eight or ten Black Terns appeared and hovored over them, occasionally dipping in the water.  They gave two notes both very harsh.

Red-winged Blackbirds chased each other through the reeds making a great deal of noise.

When I returned I heard an Orchard Oriole singing in an oak and looked for 15 minutes before I finally saw and shot it.

Heard a Short-billed Marsh Wren singing in some tall grass by the Lake.

In a grove I saw a Flicker chasing a Red-head Woodpecker around the trees.
