This morning Mr. Stout and I went over in the Half Moon Woods. It was windy and we did not see many birds. Saw a male Red bellied Woodpecker chasing another around presumably a young one. He flew at it with angry notes whenever he got near it. Stout shot him but the other one flew in among the leaves and I could not find it.

A Wood Thrush flew up in a tree and was shot. I have not seen for some time
