Ring-bill May 5, 1955 II OS = short O with LCN OG = long O with LC Still not near blind 12:40. 12:50 [[male symbol]]A. O-HD-TT U.PAG.PAG.U.O-HD-TT U.PAG.U.P. OS.U. OS.OS. [[image]] [[caption]] (Short burst of hostility). [[/caption]] U.PAG.U.OS.U. flies off 12:51. One anxiety U posture just like Niko's picture of Hartlaub gull. Crest raising, as on previous page, is correlated, I think, with some slight R of scapulas, or, at least, with a noticeable "prominence" of the scapular tract as a whole. Correlated with a lowish intensity U, neither very aggressive nor very alarmed. Long-sustained O posture often seen when mates walk to rejoin each other. Can't tell call, but I think rather more LC than M. 1:00p.m. Notice apparent LCN's from semi-U or semi-O posture with particularly wide opening of the bill. Trace of P perhaps. Birds calming a little 1:03. Reduction after FB conspicuous. Tongue of [[male symbol]] conspicuous during copulation. Red [[image]] Also notice post-cop U of male with lower breast and belly feathers still fluffed.
