Ring-bill, June 19, 1955, I Dog Lake. Pelican Island. Notice, twice, a typical vertical Swoop-Rise-Hover performance, by a presumably nesting bird. Just like that of Franklin's Gull; but perhaps less extreme, not extending over as great vertical distances, as the most extreme Franklin's Gull performances Accompanied by call, loudest during the Swoop, which seemed to be a version of the "Plaintive" Charge Call. Rather more like "Kaaa-aa-aa-auh" (Perhaps transitional to the Alarm Call.
