Peculiar. After the above M.C., the C station was deserted for a few minutes. Then two birds back, landing at same time, but not too close together. Male (presume C2) and female. Male immed. relaxes, ignores female. She, however, does a massive series of T's, interrupted by U's, O's and one Cpr. She shows no unmistakable sign of FB, making no attempt to approach the male., or to grasp his bill. He eventually flies off to water. She remains on station doing occasional C's toward flying birds. She then flies off herself, going to male at left, belonging to pair I have been calling DC. She doesn't go very close to him, but they show little hostility and quickly relax. She may very well be D female.8:27

Interest of the above incident is that female did an unusually large series of T's and yet did not seem to be particularly afraid. Some of her U's were quite agg. T must contain but a slight preponderance of E, if any.

Her T notes, incidentally were unusually shrill.
C2 in now back on station 8:32.
