May 31 IV 1954 Gull attacking something on ground. Repeated Swoops and [[rues?]] (with beating wings) Peculiar call - rather intermediate between Attack and Charge call [[image 1]] Might be transcribed, at best, as "Kh-kh-kh-ksauh etc". Had rather plaintive quality like the charge call. 10:02. My drawing, incidentally,is true for posture at top of the "attack ride". Posture at top of "charge soar" [image 2]] [[left margin]] *7 ✓✓ [[/left margin]] MC. at C. Male does U1-T1-HF1-O1-T2-HF2-U2-HF3-T3-T4-U3. Female does U1-HF1-U2.- flies off. Male does OL-T-flight after she goes. 10:14. [[left margin]] !! [[/left margin]] Bill open during Glide Calls. Almost as much, at least, as I have drawn it. Male DC standing giving repeated & numerous Charge Call Notes. In posture comme ca. [[image 3]] or Interrupted by several PAG or preening movements - not very strained. Then OL - completely relaxed preening. Can't see the object of his attention. Probably "DC female", a few feet away. If so she's taking it very calmly. In fact, she isn't responding at all. 10:29. Certainly it is getting no warmer - fast. A little light rain starting. Leaving 10:40.
