Franklin's, July 31, 1955 I Arrive colony 11:55. Clear. Warm. Little Wind. Lots of young gulls flying very well. One young lands 12:05. Others flying about with juv. h.i. D.C. One lands beside the other Mutual Greeting: one or two h.i. DC. notes, from H, followed by whistles, from H, with trace of T. Flying birds uttering h.i. D.C. quite frequently. T from H with R h.i. DC's as Landing Call Young gulls ignoring young coot on platform with them. Quite a number of young coming back now 12:22 Very dull. The young are doing almost nothing. No trace of adults in colony All the "unmated" adults seem to be gone.
