Franklin's II

Old chick (X), (wing feathers, [[?]], quite well developed; ruff of fuzz remaining about hind neck), introduced to Gus and Willie. Not much response. Once, when pecked near bill, the Franklin's (X) went into crouch head-down

Once, when chased by mallard ducklings, X ran away screaming Rasp and/or DC. (Still can't tell them apart really) 

When pecked by hen, X also began to scream Rasp. Rasp is obviously, I think, the Long Call and/or the Attack Call.


July 7.

Have been watching X again. Threatening and attacking Willie and the new Ring-bill. Always with Rasp. Tending to be rather low posture.

Have been watching X more closely.

Has food-begging with whistle quite conspicuous. Whistle with purer sound, could also be transcribed as "hliooo." Quite often accompanied by slight tossing. Also does this to Gus and Willie, often after threat, and this may be hostile in these circumstances.

A. Posture
