These Wh Notes were usually associated with MCN's of the usual type, and the 2 types of calls really seem to intergrade quite perfectly.

The Wh Notes of this white right male were always uttered with bill completely closed, and at least some of the MCN's were given in the same way.

The 2 remaining birds still show a great deal of hostility toward another. The male does lots of MCN-WhN (if these are really separate)while the female tends to do more G. She usually crouches down, facing the male, with CR, and at least sometimes pronounced Ruffling of the upper back feathers, during these G's.

I should certainly say that the female was the dominant of the 2 birds. Her supplanting attacks usually make the male retreat. And he tends to be more sleek and alert looking most of the time. (I might mention that it was probably the female Sangre de Toro who killed a female Blue-black Grosbeak I had for a little while. She seems to be quite aggressive in general).
