Ramphocelus, Feb. 25, 1962, III

B seems to have no family group!! (He is the only male I have seen so far who seems to be completely independent.)

B is uttering a medley of notes now, 6:45. Including NN's and loud, harsh, long PN's (like some of the PN's of A). It is possible that the latter are "closer" to TssN's than are the softer, less harsh PN's.

A few minutes later, he settles down to uttering 0's, with extreme Back R, and occasional pauses for preening. 0 in posture comme ca

This head shape is correct. This is probably the most typical posture accompanying 0's.

Late in the morning, ca 8:20 a.m., I saw 2 juvs and/or female Yellow-rumps bump into one another, in air, obviously by mistake. One of them uttered a hoarse "Zraaah" note immediately after the collision. Presumably a variation of 0R, but very HAC-blee.
