at all hoarse or buzzy. Apparently looking at Alvarez (who is distributing food in distance) while he utters these notes. Could there by AlCN's or CN's ????

It is possible that this and other birds have uttered such notes before, but I may simply have overlooked them because they are so very inconspicuous. So much like the ordinary "CN" s of other species.

Birds just fly about when Alvarez puts food in their cage. One utters one NN. Then go down to feed. Female first. Male utters more soft "Trit"s while perched on food dish.

Male suddenly utters RR-R-eeyah when one bird joins the other on a branch. (I didn't see who did the joining).

Both birds just sitting, without moving, quite silent 8:20. a.m. Not close together. In apparently unritualized postures, but absolutely "frozen." I think this must be due to the fact that Spider Monkeys are near me.

I presume that many species must have similar freeze patterns, but this species may freeze more often, and for longer periods of time, than all or most others. (I would, for instance, expect (?) to be flying about with NN's when monkeys are around.)

Still sitting 8:30 a.m. Then make starts to preen.

Things very dull. Birds moving around a little, but only a little. Male down to feed. Then up, lands on same branch at female, about 1 ft away. Female gradually approaches him, then sits almost side by side with him. No display. Then female stretches wings. Male immediately utters (RR-NN) - RR-R-Eeyah. Facing female. In more or less upright sitting posture, but with bill remarkably wide open. Apparently a form of G!!! (I think that all or most of his earlier RR-
