Usually or always with moderate Back R during the R's, the Back R usually or always decreasing, momentarily but noticeably, between each R.

[[image]] Posture old male
Crown rounded, but not very noticeably fluffed or ruffled

During this whole performance the New male sits in an extreme "Fluffed Hunched" Posture ("FH"), without Back R, but with the feathers of the crown (possibly the whole head & chin) raised turning to face the Old male with G. Bill opening & closing during the G, in an "OCB"-like manner. Most peculiar. Apparently quite silent.

Then the Old male flies a few ft. away. Utters lots of Φ, TssN's, and a few NN's. Sitting in an unritualized posture. The New male remains in an extreme FH, but stops G.

The Old male continues this for several minutes. Notice that he has Back R during some of his Φ's.

Then the Old male suddenly supplants the new male, 6:05.

Then both birds resume behaving as before.

Then the female flies to the New male. Pecks at him, and he pecks back. Repeatedly. The female does G, with "HAC" during the dispute. The male does silent G, still in FH posture.

6:10 a.m. Lots of chasing back and forth. Involving all birds. With lots of R's and Φ's. Also lots of "HAC" (all or almost all of which seem to be uttered by the female???)
